Supplier vetting

How we vet suppliers.

We work from a database of 30,000+ suppliers (company-reported). A database is not a vetted list. Vetting is applied to the factories shortlisted for your project.

What we check, in order

  • Manufacturer or trader: does the company own a factory, and does its business licence show a manufacturing scope
  • Export history: has it legally exported, and to which countries, with shipment records
  • Bank account: payment goes to the registered company, never to an individual or a third party
  • Certification: product-specific evidence, for example AS 2047 test evidence for windows and doors
  • Test reports: from an ILAC-accredited laboratory so they are recognised here
  • References: recent customers you can contact, asked about defects, delivery and how problems were handled
  • Capacity: monthly output, current lead times and how the factory handles peaks

What stops a deal

  • A trader presenting as a factory
  • A request to pay an individual or an offshore account
  • Certificates that do not match the product being shipped
  • No references that can be contacted

After vetting

Samples are approved before production, production is monitored, and goods are inspected before they ship. Our team conducts the final pre-shipment inspection under AQL sampling standards. Independent third-party inspection is optional.

Common questions

Are all 30,000+ suppliers vetted?

No. They are a database. Vetting is applied to the factories shortlisted for your project.

Do I have to be in China for this?

No. Vetting can be done remotely. A buying trip lets you see the factory yourself.

Ask how your shortlist would be vetted.

Tell us the categories you are sourcing and we will explain the checks for each.
